Wilderness Adventures Gap Semester programs bring together a dedicated group of peers to confront challenges in wilderness medicine, outdoor leadership, and field environmental studies. This program is open to all college-aged individuals, independent of their current academic enrollment status. Interested candidates are invited to submit an application and schedule an interview, and our admissions team remains available to answer any questions.

Itinerary
Throughout this extended adventure, you will embark on extended backpacking expeditions in remote wilderness settings, undergo professional training to guide whitewater rafts, fulfill requirements for your Wilderness First Responder certification, and gain practical experience by interning alongside Wilderness Adventures Trip Leaders across our diverse array of programs.

Academic Credit
Accredited by the Gap Year Association, Wilderness Adventures Leadership Institute (WALI) Gap Semester Programs deliver an intensive eight-week experience. Enrolled students have the opportunity to earn academic credit via the University of Montana as well as the University of Wyoming’s Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources.
