The Thorofare: A Yellowstone Experience

Trip Overview

This rugged three-week expedition is WA’s ultimate adventure and one of the most challenging and physically-demanding programs that we offer. Students will spend 16 of their days backpacking and sea kayaking through the most remote wilderness in the lower 48 states! The group will have the opportunity to fully immerse themselves into backcountry living for 16 days with no distractions from the outside world. Their 10 day backpacking route will take them through The Thorofare trail in Yellowstone National Park, where they will trek through grassy meadows and across winding streams, all while being surrounded by beautiful mountainous views. The backpacking trek will end on the shores of Yellowstone Lake, where a re-supply boat will take their backpacks and trade them for kayaks, and the group will continue their journey by water. Students will spend 6 days kayaking on Yellowstone Lake, perfecting their paddle techniques, and seeing Yellowstone from a different perspective. This is the perfect trip to hone in on backcountry skills and take the next step as an avid outdoor recreationalist.
