Trip Overview
Our 28-day Alaska Southcentral adventure is the perfect program for the experienced adventurer or students looking for a challenge. As one of our most challenging trips, students will spend 18 nights in Alaska’s stunning and remote backcountry wilderness. They’ll watch the sun and clouds dance on snow-capped peaks while trekking through the volcanic mountain kingdom of the Talkeetnas. Students will challenge their navigational skills by using a map and compass to guide their trek all the way to the Chickaloon River. The group will be met with whitewater rafts to exit the backcountry on a thrilling 2-day run of the river! Students will also experience the pristine waters of the Prince William Sound as they sea kayak amongst whales past towering glaciers for 8 days. They’ll get the opportunity to experience those glaciers up close on a 2-day ice climbing progression course. From tracking braided rivers to their glaciated source, to sea kayaking amongst the largest mammals on Earth, students will experience the magnetism that makes Alaska the last enchanted frontier.
