With our team of proven experts in the camping industry, the program will be unlike anything your campers have done before. Hike, learn target sports, sing songs, do arts and crafts, participate in a Color War and much more! For K – 8th graders, our program will delight the imagination and offer memories that will last a lifetime.
For parents, if you did not experience day camp, you might believe it to be a fun way to provide daycare for your child in the summer. However, great day camps are so much more. They are places where our campers will grow and test their boundaries. They will express their creativity and make new friends.

Counselor in Training Program
Join our Counselor in Training program and learn the skills needed to become an incredible camp counselor! Help lead our young campers to become great community members – teach them team-building skills and sportsmanship, play games like Gaga, and instruct them through their arts & crafts projects.
This position requires candidates who are responsible, coachable, and have enthusiasm and fun energy all day long. All 6th-8th graders (2021/22 school year) are invited to apply for the Counselor in Training program at Base Camp!
For each week of Base Camp, there will be ten Counselors In Training. The C.I.T. Program will run during the normal camp hours of 9am – 4pm. Counselors in Training will go through a Base Camp orientation every Monday and will then be assigned to specific Houses and activities for the rest of the week. Come learn what it takes to be a great camp counselor at Base Camp!
Itinerary
Right after you drop your camper off at Base Camp, we will come together and get warmed up for the day. With songs, skits, and dances, there is no better way to get ready for the day. We will then break into our House groups and begin our morning activities! Your camper will participate in two morning activity blocks. Arts and crafts, hikes, ropes course, field games, archery and more, our mornings are jam-packed! Activities are developed with camper age in mind, offering the right level of challenge and FUN! Houses will enjoy picnic lunches together before jumping into our Afternoon Activity Blocks. With 3 activities in the afternoon, the fun doesn’t stop! A rotating activity schedule throughout the week allows every camper to participate in each activity at least twice to ensure campers can hone with skills. Before we know it, it’s after 3 pm and time to wrap up the day! During this time we sing camp songs, eat a snack, and dance the afternoon away until it is time to be picked up. As your campers leave they are already thinking and dreaming about the next camp day to come.

How We Plan on Operating This Summer
Like every year, the health and wellness of our campers and staff is our highest priority. Still this year will be unique, and we want to make you aware of our plans for operation. Base Camp will look similar to last summer, but as things continue to change, we will keep families updated on any new policies and procedures for 2024!
Camper Groups
Our camper groups are divided up by age, and these are called our Houses. There is also a high likelihood that Houses will be divided in half during some activities. But, have no fear! If your camper is attending Base Camp with a buddy, they will still have plenty of time to play together!
Drop Off + Pick Up
Lower Camp and CITs (K-2nd graders and 6th-8th graders) drop-off and pick-up will happen at the gravel lot at Snow King below the Maze. Upper Camp (3rd-5th graders) drop-off and pick-up will happen outside the Grand View Lodge above the Rafferty Center. If you have campers in both locations please drop-off and pick-up at the Lower Camp. Counselors will be spread out to point you in the right direction. We will be waiting at these locations to bring your camper to the rest of the group! On the first day of every week, we will have counselors directing you to the drop-off areas. If you have missing paperwork you will be asked to park and wait for a counselor to help you with your remaining paperwork.
To ensure a smooth first day please complete ALL of your paperwork found in your CampinTouch account.
One Big Circle with Everybody in It
It is the Base Camp way! If your camper is not feeling well, we kindly request that they stay home from camp that day. If a camper exhibits signs of illness while at camp, we will reach out to you and have you come to pick them up immediately. We work diligently to maintain an illness free environment at Base Camp and we appreciate your support in this effort!
Weekly Schedule
The week before your camper(s) will be joining us, you will receive their schedule. Their camp day will go from 9am – 4pm, Monday – Friday.
Field Days
One day a week, Larkspur and Sage campers will leave camp and embark on a Base Camp field day to local areas. Field day activities may include day hikes within Grand Teton National Park, visits to local sights including the Fish Hatchery, Rendezvous Park, South Park Feed grounds, a wildlife safari through the Elk Refuge and more! Field days will vary depending on that week’s theme.
Financial Assistance
Base Campers may be eligible for scholarship funds through our partner, One22 Resource Center’s Youth Enrichment Scholarship (Y.E.S.) program. For each week of Base Camp, we reserve a number of spots for Y.E.S. campers. You do not have to register with Base Camp if you are planning to apply for the Y.E.S. program. When the Y.E.S. applications open, you will apply directly to the Y.E.S. program to reserve your camper’s spot at Base Camp. We will be in touch after that.
