We welcome all children, grades K-8, to experience the thrill, excitement, and adventure of Wilderness Adventures’ day camp, familiarly known as Base Camp. Our camp operates in Jackson Hole, at Snow King Mountain. This site offers adventure itself, but we utilize the surrounding areas to maximize each camper’s experience.

While our program will be FUN, we strive for the curriculum in our program to be based on the 3 core values that guide all other Wilderness Adventures programs: community, leadership, and the natural world.

Campers will be invited to participate in week-long sessions that build off each other. Come for one week to get a taste, or come for all weeks to experience the full adventure of summer at Base Camp.

"Base Camp provides a unique experience similar to a sleep-away camp but for younger ages. Traditional camp songs and games are mixed with activities specific to Jackson and the mountain environment. The counselors are amazing and FUN. My kids love this camp!"

FAQs

Standard Activities occur twice daily and campers will be scheduled into these activities on a weekly basis. These activities include: arts and crafts, field games, mountain life, hikes, target sports, nature science, song/dance/performance, and other activities specific to the area! Weekly Choice occurs in the afternoon. Campers will select which activity they will do during this period for the entire week. These will include: nature discovery, mountain life, arts and crafts, target sports, field games, and performance.

Yes! There is a theme for every week at Base Camp revealed the weekend before camp begins! The weekly theme is wrapped into the daily activities and inspires creativity throughout the week. The theme also makes each week feel different and exciting, thus making Base Camp a great option for kids over multiple weeks. No chance of getting bored!

Base Camp is technology free! Separating campers from these devices allows them to grow in the skills needed for the 21st century: critical thinking and problem-solving, creativity and innovation, and communication and collaboration.
