Trip Overview

From the world-renowned blue-ribbon waters of the Madison River to the sparkling alpine lakes of the Anaconda Pintlers Wilderness, this marvelous adventure combines great backpacking with the opportunity to become an experienced fly fisher in a setting without comparison. Students will spend two days at fly fishing school learning from local experts about the fish species in the area, practicing tying flies, and perfecting their cast. Once the group is prepped for success, they will head into two four-day long backpacking trips in Yellowstone National Park and the Anaconda Pintlers Wilderness, with the opportunity to resupply in between. Students will learn backcountry skills like traveling comfortably with a backpack, selecting and setting up a backcountry campsite, sourcing and purifying water, and cooking over small backpacking stoves, all while fishing the river in their spare time. After bonding with each other and fishing for days in the backcountry, the group will come together and put their skills to the test with a fish off to end their trip! This is the perfect adventure for students looking to learn or practice their fly fishing skills while enjoying physical challenge and the remote wilderness!
