No matter the year, when spring rolls around, our Leadership Team begins the shift to summer mode. Our team is putting the final touches on our programs, brainstorming games to share with our leaders at staff training, updating and adding to the WA Book Box, designing on-trip resources like regional guides and new quotes for the WA Quote Book, creating resources for our students and their families like videos for packing a backpack, mini-webinars to answer some of the most frequently asked questions, etc. There is never a dull day and the wheels are always turning.
This spring has been much of the same, and yet it has been incredibly different. We are working towards summer, preparing the trips that will expose our students to new ideas, incredible role models, beautiful places, and fun activities. With our team working remotely and social distancing in full swing, we find ourselves having to be more creative in our outreach to our families, our Trip Leaders, and to each other.
The WA Community is unbelievably powerful. It encourages our Trip Leaders to come back and lead year after year. It keeps our students coming back for their 3rd, 4th, and 5th WA summers. Community is a core value of Wilderness Adventures and we encourage you now, more than ever, to connect with your WA community. Message your leaders! See what they’re up to these days. Check in with your past trip mates from last summer or the summer before that. Have your parents tell you a story from their time on a WV trip back in the 70s, 80s, or 90s.
We are looking forward to summer for so many reasons. In the meantime, we are leaning on the entire WA community for support. We invite you to click the link below to our very own music video. We hope that this latest endeavor will bring a smile to your face and remind you what WA is all about:
