Meet Berkeley!
Berkeley was born in Jacksonville, Florida and raised in Thomasville, Georgia. She grew up being very active in the outdoors and spent many days hunting and fishing on her family farm. Growing up, Berkeley was heavily involved in her high school field hockey team and has continued her active lifestyle throughout college. Berkeley is a graduate of Sewanee, The University of the South, where she studied Forestry. In the future, Berekley hopes to return home to the south to work in the Red Hills Region as a Forester to support biodiversity and help the natural pine stands flourish.
Berkeley has spent the past few summers in Wyoming working as a Trip Leader and is looking forward to another adventure in the mountains!
Meet Sam!
Sam is originally from Portland, Oregon. He is heading into his senior year at Gonzaga University where he is pursuing a degree in Business with a Marketing concentration. Growing up, Sam played basketball, baseball, and golf, and continues to jump back into these sports whenever he has the chance. Now, Sam spends most of his free time fly fishing on the rivers of the West. He is the co-leader of the Gonzaga University Fly Fishing Club where he organizes fishing trips and facilitates casting seminars for undergrad students.
This is Sam’s fourth summer with Wilderness Adventures, third as a Trip Leader (he was a student, first!). What keeps Sam coming back each summer is the joy he gets from watching students get excited about new adventures and reminiscing on his first experience with Wilderness Adventures. Sam’s goal is to create an unforgettable experience for his students to leave them with lifelong memories!
Meet Jenna!
Jenna grew up in Morristown, New Jersey, and spent her childhood and high school years traveling throughout the Northeast as a competitive ski racer. Not only did these years teach Jenna how to manage her time to ensure she was thriving on the slopes and in the classroom, but also how to persevere through season-ending injuries both mentally and physically. While Jenna does not ski race competitively anymore, skiing is still one of her favorite pastimes. When she is not skiing, however, Jenna loves to trail run, read, embroider, and is attempting to teach herself how to play guitar!
Jenna attended the University of Colorado Boulder where she studied Environmental Studies with minors in Business and Atmospheric & Oceanic Sciences. Long-term, Jenna hopes to continue to work in roles that allow her to explore the outdoors for as long as physically possible. Through this summer with Wilderness Adventures, Jenna hopes to create life-changing experiences for her groups, while also creating memories and meaningful connections within the community!
