WILDERNESS ADVENTURES’ BASE CAMP: TERMS & CONDITIONS
Please click here to view our disclosure and Parent & Camper Commitment during the COVID-19 pandemic. In consideration of the services of Wilderness Ventures LLC, doing business as Wilderness Adventures and Base Camp, camper and parent agree as follows:
TERMS OF PAYMENT, RETURN AND REFUND POLICY
Base Camp requires you to submit a $100 non-refundable deposit with your application. Along with the application and deposit, there are several additional forms a camper and/or parent must complete and submit in the application process.
On April 15 or any date of application thereafter but prior to the summer season, Base Camp will charge the credit card we have on file for the remainder of your tuition due. Base Camp also charges a 3% fee for credit cards; consequently, this fee can be waived if paying by check.
If a camper withdraws from the program prior to May 1, we will return the full amount less the $100 non-refundable deposit. If a camper withdraws by May 15, we will return 50% of tuition. If a student withdraws after May 15, we reserve the right to retain the full amount of tuition.
Once the child has started attendance at camp there are no refunds in tuition with one exception: if a child cannot attend camp because of an extended illness or accident (two consecutive camp weeks or more) the camp will share the total loss of tuition with the parents by assuming ½ of it in the form of credit on an account, or refund, at the discretion of the Director. Proof of illness by written statement of a licensed physician is required for any type of credit offered by camp. Base Camp reserves the right to dismiss a camper whose conduct, behavior or influence is unsatisfactory, or in the opinion of the director, not in the best interest of the program. There will be no refunds for this sort of cancellation.
If a camper does not show up or arrives late, Base Camp reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to alter the camper’s schedule. In addition, if a camper arrives late or departs early from Base Camp for any reason (including, but not limited to, voluntary withdrawal, dismissal for behavioral reasons, illness, injury or any other reason), no refunds will be granted.
If Base Camp withdraws a camper from a Base Camp program because of the camper’s or parent’s failure to submit requested information or for misleading or false statements on any Base Camp forms, there will be no refund of fees paid.
BASE CAMP ALTERATIONS OR CANCELLATIONS TO SCHEDULE
Our intention is to follow the schedules described in marketing materials as closely as possible. There may be instances in which the weekly schedules presented must change, due to conditions in the environment. If an activity or area is altered for any reason, you, the parent, will be notified.
Due to limited capacity, some children are placed on a waitlist. We advise families to enroll as early as possible. Should a program reach its capacity, waitlists are maintained for each program. The first person on the waitlist will be notified if a vacancy occurs. If this person does not accept this position, we will move down the list.
Medical Insurance: All campers must have medical insurance. Note: Your personal medical insurance may not cover the camper’s medical expenses. You should review your medical insurance to understand if you have appropriate coverage, or if you need to purchase a supplemental medical policy.
CAMP COMMUNITY EXPECTATIONS
Our programs are community-focused with structured environments, and we have high expectations of our campers’ behavior. Every Base Camp camper is expected to be positive, motivated, and enthusiastic. We pride ourselves on the quality of our program activities, and counselors.
Please note that the Base Camp office is staffed 7 days a week during the summer months.
If a camper must see a physician or be treated by medical personnel of any kind, our office will notify parents immediately. If a camper is not able to attend due to sickness, injury, or other reason, the parent must notify Base Camp before drop-off time.
In an effort to eliminate distractions among the group and to promote engagement in all activities, personal electronic devices, such as iPods, iPhones, iPads, handheld gaming devices, e-readers, cell phones, etc., are prohibited on all of our programs. If your camper comes with a cell phone, he or she must not use it during camp hours. Base Camp staff will collect any electronics that campers bring, at the beginning of the day and redistribute them at pickup. We understand it may be needed to help coordinate pick up and drop off. Base Camp is not responsible for any electronic devices (or other camper personal belongings) that are lost, damaged, or stolen.
INTERNET POSTINGS; BASE CAMP PROTECTED MATERIALS
Base Camp encourages campers and families to ‘spread the good word’ about their experiences at Base Camp. At the same time, we expect campers and their parents to respect our company, and not to disparage Base Camp in postings on the internet (websites, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter or other sites). Also, please understand that our website and information contain copyrighted materials, trademarks, trade names and logo/marks that are the sole property of Base Camp, and (other than downloading or printing for personal use) may not be copied, broadcast or published without our written permission.
EQUAL OPPORTUNITY – NON DISCRIMINATION
Base Camp provides equal opportunities to all, and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, religion, national or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, age or disability. However, as stated above, Base Camp does reserve the right to deny admission or ongoing participation on medical or health grounds, in appropriate cases.
The camper and parent authorize Base Camp staff or its designees to photograph, film, record and/or otherwise capture the name, image, voice, verbal or written statement, photograph and/or visual likeness (collectively “images”) of camper, parent and/or other family members, without compensation, for use in any media throughout the world in perpetuity, including for sale, reproduction or display on the internet, in publications and/or for any informational, promotional or other use. Base Camp owns these images and camper/parent waive any inspection or approval rights.
I (parent) certify and represent that I am the camper’s legally authorized parent, and that I have the legal authority to permit my child to participate in the Base Camp program and all activities, and to execute these Terms and all other required documents for myself and for and on behalf of my participating minor child. To the extent necessary, I agree that I have obtained any and all other pertinent consents or authorities (including any required by a court decree or order; for example, a divorce decree, custody order or joint parenting plan).
BEFORE AND AFTERCARE
Before and aftercare will be provided at an additional expense. The service is charged for the entire week of before care or the entire week of aftercare. Before care begins at 8:30 am and aftercare begins at 4:00 pm and goes until 5:00 pm.
Base Camp staff does not accept any form of extra compensation, including, but not limited to monetary tips.
