Real Stories from Partner Camps
Camp Lanakila has a break in programming where campers have aged out of being a camper but have to wait a year before returning to work on staff. Through the American Camp Association community, the Lanakila Director reached out to our Director, Tom about how to fill this void for his boys, and the rest is history. The Lanakila folks select a trip from our trip list for the following summer and fill it with just Lanakila campers, allowing that group to continue to strengthen their community. They’ve been to Alaska and Hawaii with us, and we’re excited to see where they head next!
Similarly, TVRC has a break in programming. Rather than choosing an existing trip, we crafted an itinerary so that campers can continue to develop the skills they learned at camp but push themselves further in the backcountry. The highlights of this trip is that the campers either get to start or end their trip at TVRC, further allowing them to stay connected to their camp community.
