  • Jackson Hole, WY

Day 1

Arrive in Jackson Hole!  The group will arrive throughout the day. Your first official event will be a welcome dinner on the first evening. You will be camping just south of the town of Jackson Hole in a beautiful and quiet area. Wilderness Adventures is happy to provide sleeping bags and sleeping pads for anyone who does not have this equipment. WA will also provide all of the tents and other major group gear.

Day 2

The group will stretch their legs a bit and explore Granite Hot Springs. This beautiful hike will give you and your family the opportunity to see some gorgeous landscapes and maybe encounter some famous Jackson Hole wildlife!

Day 3

The group will hit the water on an exhilarating day of whitewater rafting. Alongside your raft guides, you will load rafts and head down the Snake River Canyon. Rafting the Snake is always a highlight of local WA trips.

Once you’ve finished up on the water, you will head up to Colter Bay in Grand Teton National Park. You will stay here for the night, enjoying a comfortable night in cabins with beds!

Day 4

By Day 4, it will be time to explore our country’s first national park, Yellowstone! You and your group will see the most famous sites including Mammoth Hot Springs, Old Faithful, and more. You may even get off the beaten path and hike to Lone Star Geyser!  After a day of exploring, you will head back to camp at Grant Village and begin prepping for your overnight backpacking trip through Lower Geyser Basin.

Day 5 - 6

Over the next two days, you and your group will explore Lower Geyser Basin in Yellowstone. This basin is the largest geyser basin in Yellowstone National Park. The most famous sites in this area are Fountain Paint Pot and the Great Fountain Geyser. You will explore areas away from tourists and spend a night out in the beautiful backcountry of this pristine wilderness area.

The next day, you will hike back to the country and take a dive in the Firehole River, one of the park’s best swimming holes. From there, it will be back to Grant Village to shower, relax, and get ready for the following day on the water.

Day 7-8

For your final full day together as a group, you will spend it while sea kayaking on Yellowstone Lake. You will meet your kayaking specialist and learn the basics of water safety and equipment, and proper paddle techniques before hitting the water.  You will paddle along the West Thumb of the lake and check out various geothermal features. From there, the group will head back to the town of Jackson Hole for a final day in the valley and our traditional Wilderness Adventures Banquet.

The next morning, the group will head their separate ways. Or, you may even extend your vacation and spend some time exploring this beautiful area on your own!
