Laurel Falls- The easy trail that leads up to this 80-foot waterfall is one of the most frequented in the park and offers some of the best photo opportunities.
Mount LeConte- The second highest peak, standing at 6,593 feet, offers perhaps one of the most unique and rewarding hiking trails, Alum Cave Trail. Not only does this trail offer fantastic views, an incredibly beautiful bluff, and gorgeous wildflowers, but it also offers hikers with a special treat at the top…LeConte Lodge.
Chimney Tops Trail- This trail, which is not for everyone, offers serious hikers with a 900-foot elevation gain, leading up to unique rock formations that resemble chimneys. The views from these is so rewarding, that the difficulty of this trail is so worth the work.
Cades Cove- Originally inhabited by the Cherokee Indians, this 6,800-acre cove was taken over by colonists in the 1800’s. The colonists abandoned the cove during the Civil War, leaving behind their homesteads, mills, school, and church. These historical sights are a must see, in addition to the wide variety of wildlife that calls Cades Cove their home.
