Each of our international adventures allows you to experience new people, new surrounding and new activities. After arriving safely in our country of exploration, we’ll take the time to better get to know each other and our new environment during a fun introduction to the local culture and language. Throughout our adventure, you’ll enjoy the opportunity to try-out your burgeoning language abilities through meaningful interactions with local people. Discover Swahili in Tanzania and Kenya; Thai in vibrant Bankok and in the beautiful mountains of the Mae On Valley; and French, Italian and German while hut trekking in the Alps. Find amazing and diverse opportunities to unlock the Spanish language in Peru, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador and in southern Spain.
Study
Substantive and exciting language learning opportunities await in the French Alps and on the South Spanish Coast. Each of these exciting Language Learning Adventures combines dynamic classroom instruction with structured activities that apply, inspire and propel your language skills forward.
The hidden mountain village of Chamonix provides an idyllically inspirational setting in which to unlock the French language. Enjoy invigorating, apres-class hikes through the surrounding countryside, take-in exciting guest lectures, shop at local markets and marvel at the surrounding scenery on a cable car ride to the Massif Du Mont-Blanc. Chamonix is also the perfect place to base our exploratory excursions into the natural and cultural wonders of France: discover Paris, Provence and the exciting rapids of the Arve River on a thrilling whitewater ride.
The coastal city of Malaga serves as our base for learning and excitement in southern Spain. You’ll benefit from expertly tailored instruction by native speaking teachers, and enjoy the vibrant beauty of the Costa del Sol. As part of our local, cultural enrichment, we’ll visit the birthplace of Picasso, discuss inspiring Dali paintings (in Spanish), imbibe in Spanish cooking classes, hike in the nearby Montes de Malaga and have fun over relaxing afternoon games of beach volleyball. Our wider exploration of Spanish culture will allow us to experience Barcelona, Granada and Seville.
Practice
Grand Earth Adventures are all about connecting great people with amazing places. While you certainly don’t need any special language skills to enjoy any of our adventures, if you’ve already learned a bit of Spanish in school, you’ll enjoy putting that knowledge into practice while traveling on any of our exciting adventures in Central and South America. Whether whitewater rafting in the Andes or vising ancient Mayan ruins in Belize, you’ll have ample opportunities to try out your Spanish. By engaging with locals in meaningful service projects, you’ll enjoy an even greater level of lingual and cultural immersion.
